Using the Documents Tab
The Documents tab of your KCM GRC platform is a central repository of all of the documents, files, or links that have been added or uploaded to your account. This page contains files and links from your Compliance Management module, Policy Management module, and Vendor Risk Management module.

When you navigate to the Documents tab, you'll be taken to the All subtab.
To learn about this page, see the screenshot and list below:
- Name: The name that the user assigned to the file or link when they added it to your platform.
Note: For vendor documents, the Name is the same name as the file that was attached to a questionnaire.Tip: If you hover over the name, you can see the URL for links and the extension for files (click to view).
- Date Created: The date that the file or link was added to your platform.
- The Actions column will show the following icons:
Evidence
The Evidence subtab is a repository of supporting evidence that your users have provided for the controls that you've implemented in your account. Users submit evidence to the platform by uploading a file or by providing a link to externally-hosted evidence. - Click the greater than button (>) to expand the row and see the requirement or requirements that are applicable to the evidence item. Expand the following menu for more information.
Applicable Requirements- If a requirement is applicable to an evidence item, this means the evidence was submitted to a task for a control that is mapped to the requirement.
- The expanded row will show the following information for the applicable requirements:
- Requirement ID: An ID that determines the order of requirements within a scope.
- Requirement Name: The name assigned to the requirement.
- Requirement Description: A description of the requirement.
- Name: The name that the user assigned to the evidence item when they added it to your platform.
Tip: If you hover over a name you can see the URL for links and the extension for files (click to view).
- Control Name: The name of the control that is associated with the evidence item. Click on the control name to open the control.
- Task: Click a Task button to open the control task that the evidence was submitted under.
- Date Created: The date that the evidence item was added to your platform.
- The Actions column will show the following icons:
- If the evidence item is a link, this column will show the link icon (
). Click this icon to open the web page in a new browser tab.
- If the evidence item is a file, this column will show the download icon (
). Click this icon to download and view the file.
- Click the pencil icon (
) to update the evidence.
Note: The pencil icon will not be available if the associated task is closed. Once a task is closed you cannot update the task evidence.
- If the evidence item is a link, this column will show the link icon (
Policies
The Policies subtab contains the internal policies, terms, or agreements that you have added to your console for the purpose of user acknowledgment. Users add policies to the platform by uploading a file or by providing a link to an externally-hosted policy. For more information about the Policy Management module, see this article.
- Name: The name that the user assigned to the policy item when they added it to your platform.
Tip: If you hover over a name you can see the URL for links and the extension for files (click to view).
- Version: The version that the user assigned to the policy item when they added it to your platform.
- Campaigns: The name of the campaign that you have created for users to acknowledge the policy. If the policy is assigned under multiple campaigns, the policy item is listed multiple times on this page.
- Last Updated: The date that the policy item was last updated.
- The Actions column will show the following icons:
Vendor Documents
The Vendor Documents subtab contains files that your vendors or other third-parties have attached to a questionnaire that you have assigned to them.
- Name: The name of the file that a vendor user has attached to a question in a questionnaire.
- Vendor: The name of the vendor profile that has attached the file to a questionnaire.
- Questionnaire: The name of the questionnaire that the file was attached to.
- Date Created: The date that the file was attached to the questionnaire.
- The Actions column will display the following icon buttons:
Control Documents
The Control Documents subtab contains the files or links that you have added to your controls as a control document. Control documents can be used as an example of the evidence needed to satisfy a control. For more information on control documents, please see our Glossary of Compliance Terms.
- Name: The name that the user assigned to the item when they added it to your platform.
Tip: If you hover over a name you can see the URL for links and the extension for files (click to view).
- Control: The name of the control that the item was added to.
- Date Created: The date that the item was added to your platform.
- The Actions column will display two of the following icons:
- If the item is a file, this column will show the cloud icon. Click the cloud icon to download and view the file. If the item is a link, this column will show the link icon. Click the link icon to open the web page in a new browser tab.
- Click the pencil icon to update the item.
- Click the trash can icon to delete the item.
