In your KSAT console, you can customize your time zones, business days, and business hours. Depending on where you customize your settings, different areas of your console will be changed.
Account Settings
You can edit your Account Settings to include a default time zone, a time zone source, business days, and hours. Setting a time zone, business days, and hours on your account will automatically populate this information when you set up phishing or training campaigns. For more information on these settings, see the Organization Information section of our KnowBe4 Console Account Settings: Account Information article.
To change your default settings, follow the instructions below:
- Log in to your KSAT console and click your email address in the top-right corner of the page.
- Select Account Settings > Account Information > Organization Information.
-
In this section, you can set your organization's specific business hours, business days, time zone, and time zone source.
Once you've set your settings, select Save Changes at the bottom of the page.
Auto-Adjust Time Zone
Phishing emails can be sent based on each user's local time zone, so they arrive during their normal working hours, using the Auto-Adjust User Time Zone toggle in Account Settings > Phishing > Phishing Settings. If Auto-Adjust User Time Zone is enabled, phishing security test email deliveries will be offset to each recipient's local time zone. This setting eliminates the need to create and duplicate separate campaigns for different geographic regions, saving you time and streamlining global security awareness training.
When this setting is enabled, the text Using Each Users' Time Zone will also appear next to the Define Business Days and Hours text when you create a phishing campaign. In addition, the text Auto-Adjusted User Time Zone will appear in adjusted phishing campaigns when you navigate to Phishing > Campaigns and select a campaign to view and monitor.
Time Zone Source
Time Zone Source also controls the user’s time zone source and is located in Account Settings > Account Information > Organization Information. Its default setting, User Browser Settings, sets each user’s time zone to their browser’s time zone, which is set when they log in to the Learner Experience to take training.
Admins can also change the Time Zone Source to Use Manual Settings, allowing them to manage each user's time zone in their profile. This information can be bulk changed by a CSV import.
Phishing and Training Campaigns
Setting the time zone in an individual phishing or training campaign will affect the timing of the campaign. The campaign will send emails at the specified time for the selected time zone. If your organization has users in multiple time zones, this option allows you to set up different campaigns for users in their respective time zones.
If you want your campaign to start at the same local time for users in different time zones, we recommend that you create groups based on the users' local time zones and schedule campaigns for these groups.
To learn more about creating campaigns, visit our Create and Manage Phishing Campaigns article and Training Campaigns Guide.
Users Tab
Setting the time zone on the Users tab will affect the time a user will see in their console. We recommend only changing the time zone at the user level for admins. This setting is useful if you have multiple admins on the account that would like to view phishing and training reports in their respective time zones.
User time zones can be changed individually and in bulk. To learn how to change user time zones on the Users tab, visit the sections below.
