For information about each miscellaneous placeholder, see the table below:
Placeholder Name | Placeholder Drop-Down Menu Option | Information Populated |
---|---|---|
[[random_number_1]] | Random Number (1 Digit) |
This placeholder populates one randomly-generated digit. You can manually replace the digit-count number in this placeholder with 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9 to generate a longer, randomly-generated number. For example, the placeholder [[random_number_7]] would generate a seven-digit random number. This placeholder is not available for training notifications. |
[[random_number_2]] | Random Number (2 Digits) | This placeholder works the same as the [[random_number_1]] placeholder above. However, this placeholder populates two randomly-generated digits instead of one digit. |
[[random_number_3]] | Random Number (3 Digits) | This placeholder works the same as the [[random_number_1]] and the [[random_number_2]] placeholders above. However, this placeholder populates three randomly-generated digits instead of one or two digits. |
[[current_date_0]] | Current Date | This placeholder populates the date the email was sent to the recipient's inbox. This placeholder uses the date format that matches the user's phishing language. |
[[current_date_10]] | Current Date + 10 days |
This placeholder populates the date as 10 days after the email is sent to the recipient's inbox. This placeholder uses month, date, year format. For example, if the email was sent on July 4, 2021, this placeholder will display the date July 14, 2021. You can manually replace the "+ day" number in this placeholder to change the increment of days added to the current date. For example, if you want the placeholder to populate the date five days after the email is sent, you can change the placeholder to [[current_date_5]]. |
[[current_date_-10]] | Current Date - 10 days |
This placeholder populates the date 10 days prior to the date when the email was sent to the recipient's inbox. This placeholder uses month, date, year format. For example, if the email was sent on July 4, 2021, this placeholder will populate the date June 24, 2021. You can manually replace the "- day" number in this placeholder to change the increment of days subtracted from the current date. For example, if you want the placeholder to populate the date five days before the email was sent, you can change the placeholder to [[current_date_-5]]. |
[[knowbe4_domain]] | N/A |
This placeholder populates KnowBe4's domain. For example, donotreply@[[knowbe4_domain]] will appear as donotreply@training.knowbe4.com, donotreply@eu.knowbe4.com, or donotreply@ca.knowbe4.com, depending on where your KnowBe4 account is located.
Important:This placeholder is not available from the drop-down menu. However, you can use this placeholder anywhere in templates. To make sure that the placeholder works correctly, you can click the Send Me a Test Email button.
