If you're in the process of adding a new root domain to your KSAT console, you’ll need to add a text (TXT) record to your organization’s domain name system (DNS) records. Adding a TXT record to your organization’s DNS records allows KnowBe4 to verify that you own and maintain the domain.

Before You Begin

Before you can add a TXT record to your DNS records, you'll need to complete the following steps:

1. Verify that you have permissions to modify the DNS records for your organization's domain. If you don’t have these permissions, contact the employee in your organization who can modify these records for you.
2. Identify your domain host or domain name registrar. To learn how to find this information, see Google’s Identify your domain host article.

Adding a TXT Record

Once you’ve followed the steps in the Before You Begin section above, you can add a TXT record to your organization’s DNS records.

First, you’ll need to obtain the TXT record from your KSAT Account Settings. This TXT record will apply to all allowed domains that you add to your KSAT console. To learn how to obtain your TXT record, see our How to Add and Verify Domains article.

After you've obtained your TXT record, you can add it to your DNS records. The instructions for adding a TXT record will vary depending on your domain host or domain name registrar.
