KnowBe4 Learner App Admin FAQ
The KnowBe4 Learner App is a mobile application available for Android and iOS devices. The app allows your users to access their security awareness and compliance training anytime and anywhere. Users can also use the app to view their messages, badges, and more.

Why is there a minimum version requirement for the app?
1. Question: How can I demo the app before enabling it for my users?
Answer: You can demo the app by following the steps below:
- From your KMSAT console, click your email address at the top-right corner of the page and select Account Settings.
- In your Account Settings, navigate to Training > Learner Experience.
- Locate the KnowBe4 Learner App section.
- Click Demo KnowBe4 Learner App to enable the app for yourself. When you click this link, your Learner Experience (LX) will open.
- Once you're in your LX, follow the instructions in our KnowBe4 Learner App article to download and use the app.
The KnowBe4 Learner App tab will display in your LX for 30 minutes. Other users will not be able to see this tab. After 30 minutes, the tab will no longer display in your LX, but you will not be logged out of the app.
2. Question: How do I enable or disable the app for my users?
Answer: You can enable or disable the app in your Account Settings by following the steps below:
- From your KnowBe4 console, click your email address at the top-right of the page and select Account Settings.
- In your Account Settings, navigate to Training > Learner Experience.
- Locate the KnowBe4 Learner App section.
- To enable the app for your users, select the Enable KnowBe4 Learner App check box.
- To disable the app for your users, deselect the Enable KnowBe4 Learner App check box.
If the KnowBe4 Learner App is enabled for your users, they will be able to see setup instructions in their Learner Experience. For more information on how your users can download the app and link their device, see our KnowBe4 Learner App article.
Note: Once a user has linked a device to their account, the user will remain logged in on that device. If the user is archived or deleted, they will be logged out. Users can also choose to log out manually from the Profile section in the app.
When the KnowBe4 Learner App is disabled, your users can download it from their app store, but cannot log in and access their training assignments.
3. Question: Can I use my mobile device management (MDM) to manage the app for my users?
Answer: Yes, you can use your MDM solution to manage the app for your users. We support the most popular MDM solutions, including Microsoft Intune and Jamf. Because these MDMs are third parties, we recommend contacting the relevant third party if you need further help.

4. Question: As an admin, how do I download the app and link it to my device?
Answer: You can download the app and link it to your device from your Learner Experience. To go to your Learner Experience, log in to your KnowBe4 console and click on your email address at the top-right of the page. Then, select My Training from the drop-down menu.
Once you're in your Learner Experience, follow the instructions in our KnowBe4 Learner App article to download and use the app.
5. Question: Can users view custom training content in the app?
Answer: Your users will be able to view custom training content in the KnowBe4 Learner App. Keep this in mind when uploading custom content. For example, if your content contains external links, consider whether or not those links can be viewed on a mobile device. If your custom training content should only be accessed in the Learner Experience, you can indicate this by selecting Not Recommended for KnowBe4 Learner App when uploading your content.
Content with this setting selected will have a Not Recommended for Mobile banner in the app. If the user taps on the piece of content, the page that opens will include a message directing the user to use their Learner Experience. Even with this setting enabled, users can still access and complete the content using the KnowBe4 Learner App.

7. Question: Can users access their training in the app without an internet connection?
Answer: Your users can download training content in the app. Once downloaded, users can access the training content with or without an internet connection. Be aware that custom content cannot be downloaded in the app at this time.

8. Question: Why is there a minimum version requirement for the app?
Answer: To ensure the best user experience, the KnowBe4 Learner App requires the app to be operating on version 1.0.9 or later. If a user opens the app in an outdated version, the screen will display an error message and instruct them to update the app from their device’s app store.
