KnowBe4’s integration with Drata combines KSAT training results with the Drata platform, which automates the evidence collection process for security awareness training. Once the integration is complete, Drata will automatically recognize KnowBe4 as your default security awareness training provider. You can use this integration to track the training results for each KSAT training campaign synced with Drata.

Prerequisites

Before you can connect Drata to KSAT, you must meet the following requirements:

1. You must know the API Token and the server location for your account.
   Note: For the API Token, use the Reporting API Token found in your KSAT Account Settings. For more information, see the API section of our KSAT Account Settings: Account Integrations article.
2. You must have a training campaign in your KSAT console that is in Created, Pending, Active, or Closed status. Data from deleted campaigns cannot be imported to Drata.

Connecting Your KSAT Console to the Drata Platform

To connect your KSAT console to the Drata platform, follow the steps below:

1. Log in to your Drata admin console.
2. From the sidebar on the left side of the page, click your company’s logo and click Connections from the menu.
3. Find KnowBe4 in the Security Training section and click Connect. When you click Connect, the Connection Instructions pop-up window will open.
4. In the Connection Instructions pop-up window, enter your API Token and select the Server location.
5. Click Connect your KnowBe4 Account to open the Manage Campaigns pop-up window.
6. In the Manage Campaigns pop-up window, select your training campaigns from the drop-down menu. These campaigns will be integrated with Drata to sync personnel activity.
   Important:If your users are enrolled in multiple campaigns, they’ll need to pass all the campaigns you selected in the previous step to be compliant in Drata.
7. Click Save. 
8. Find KnowBe4 in the My Connections section to confirm that your KSAT console was connected to the Drata platform.

Verifying Your Training Provider Settings

When you connect your KSAT console to the Drata platform, Drata will automatically set KnowBe4 as your training provider. To verify your settings, follow the steps below:

1. Log in to your Drata admin console.
2. From the sidebar on the left side of the page, click your company’s logo and click Internal Security from the menu.
3. In the Annual Security Awareness Training section, confirm that the Use KnowBe4 for security awareness training radio button is selected. If this radio button is not selected, you can select it and click Update to change the setting.

User Experience

After integration, the Drata platform will prompt your new users to complete their training in their KnowBe4 accounts. As your users complete their training, a KnowBe4-branded window will display on their devices. The users’ training progress will be tracked to provide you with daily updates. When a user completes their assigned training, the Drata platform will generate a downloadable completion certificate.
