The Egress mobile app allows you to send, receive, and access encrypted emails from your mobile device. This article will guide you through setting up your account and managing your secure communications.
Setting Up Your Account
When you first open the app, you’ll see a welcome screen. To get started, follow the steps below:
- Tap Continue to reach the login screen.
- Enter your ID and password to access your account. If you don’t have credentials yet, select Create an account to get started.
Accessing Secure Emails
Once you are logged in, the app operates in reader mode. If you receive a secure message in your standard email client, you can view it easily by following the steps below:
- Open the secure message notification in your normal mobile email app.
- Tap Open secure email.
- The message will automatically open within the Egress app for secure viewing.
Syncing Your Mailbox
To view all your standard and encrypted emails in one place, you can synchronize your accounts from the Recent page in the Egress app. To do this, follow the steps below:
- On the Recent page, select Login with your email account.
- Follow the prompts to connect your specific email provider.
- We’ll begin syncing your user data immediately. This process may take a few minutes, depending on the size of your mailbox.
Once complete, you will be able to view all your emails in the Egress app.
Upgrading the App
To ensure you have the latest security features and improvements, we recommend keeping the app up to date. When an upgrade is available, you will see a notification when you open the app. Tap Upgrade and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
