This article highlights the differences between the System, Zone, and File/Folder roles in your KnowBe4 Workspace console.
System Roles
System roles are used to provide the following core system permissions to Workspace:
- Access to creating zones
- Access to specific tabs, such as Shared with me, Recent, and Zone Archives
- Access to the Admin Tools and Admin Dashboard tabs
Zone Roles
Zone roles are used to provide the following zone-level permissions that are assigned to a user:
- Being able to share users in a zone
- Having permissions to delete or archive a zone
- Setting specific notification emails to trigger
File/Folder Roles
File/Folder roles are used to provide the following file-specific permissions:
- The ability to edit and make changes to a file
- The ability to delete files
- Locking and moving files
