How to Use Our New Holiday-Themed Resources
The most wonderful time of the year can also be the most dangerous time of the year. Cybercriminals use the hustle and bustle of the holidays to catch users off guard. In preparation for the holiday season, we've updated two Security Hints and Tips newsletters and created four new phishing templates and one new holiday-themed landing page.

Holiday-Themed Security Hints and Tips Newsletters
We've updated two holiday-themed Security Hints and Tips newsletters that you can send to your users. These newsletters are based on two of the most popular ways cybercriminals target users during the holidays: shopping and travel scams.
If you would like to preview these Security Hints and Tips newsletters in your KnowBe4 console, follow the instructions below:
- Navigate to the Phishing tab, then click on Email Templates.
- Click System Templates, then select Security Hints&Tips (Not PST) or Security Hints&Tips (Branded) (Not PST) from the System Categories list.
- Find the newsletter you would like to preview and click the eye icon next to the newsletter title. The newsletters are listed below:
- KnowBe4 Security Tips - Holiday Shopping
- KnowBe4 Security Tips - Holiday Travel
To share these Security Hints and Tips newsletters with your users, you'll need to create a phishing campaign for each newsletter. To create a Security Hints and Tips campaign, see the How to Create Holiday-Themed Security Hints and Tips Campaigns section below.

How to Create Holiday-Themed Security Hints and Tips Campaigns
You can share these Security Hints and Tips newsletters with your users by creating two one-time phishing campaigns. To create the phishing campaigns, navigate to the Phishing tab of your KMSAT console. Then, click + Create Phishing Campaign in the top-right corner of the page.
On the New Phishing Campaign page, we recommend that you use the settings listed below:
- Campaign Name: Give the campaign a name. We recommend that you name each campaign after the month, such as "November Holiday Security Hints and Tips".
- Send to: Select All Users or select certain groups from the Specific Groups drop-down menu.
- Frequency: Select One-time.
- Start Time: We recommend that you create one campaign for November and another campaign for December. You can set the campaign start dates for the first Monday of the month or on any other day that works for your organization.
- Sending Period: Select Send all emails when the campaign starts.
- Template Categories: Select either Security Hints&Tips (Not PST) or Security Hints&Tips (Branded) (Not PST).
- From the second Template Categories drop-down menu, select the template that corresponds with the month.
- For November, select KnowBe4 Security Tips - Holiday Shopping.
- For December, select KnowBe4 Security Tips - Holiday Travel.
- Once you're satisfied with your settings, click Create Campaign at the bottom of the page.
New Holiday-Themed Phishing Templates and Landing Pages
We've created four new phishing templates for the holiday season. You can preview these templates by following the steps below:
- Navigate to the Phishing tab, then click on Email Templates.
- Click System Templates, then select Holiday from the System Categories list.
- Find the template you would like to preview and click the eye icon next to the template title. The new templates are listed below:
- Starbucks: Holiday shopping treat on us! (Link) (Holiday 2023)
- Mastercard: Apply for special savings this holiday season (Link) (Holiday 2023)
- Airbnb: A gift for you this holiday season (Link) (Holiday 2023)
- HR: Holiday Greetings and Travel Wellness Tips (Link) (Spoofs Domain) (Holiday 2023)
If you’re opted in to the Phishing Templates (Beta) feature, follow the steps below:
- Navigate to the Phishing tab, then click on Phishing Templates (Beta).
- Click System Templates.
- From the Topics drop-down menu, select Holidays & Celebrations.
- Find the template you would like to preview and click the eye icon next to the template title. The new templates are listed below:

- Mastercard: Apply for special savings this holiday season (Link)
- Airbnb: A gift for you this holiday season (Link)
- HR: Holiday Greetings and Travel Wellness Tips (Link) (Spoofs Domain)
We also created one new video landing page with captions. The new landing page is:
Holiday Shopping & Travel Tips from Puff the Marshmallow.
To preview the new landing page, follow the steps below:
- Navigate to the Phishing tab, then click on Landing Pages.
- Click System Landing Pages, then select Holiday/Seasonal from the System Categories list.
- Click on the eye icon next to the landing page you want to preview.
To use this landing page and new phishing templates in a campaign, see the How to Create a Holiday-Themed Phishing Campaign section below.
How to Create a Holiday-Themed Phishing Campaign
You can use the new landing page and phishing templates together in a phishing campaign. We recommend that you create multiple campaigns to test your users throughout the holiday season. To create the phishing campaign, navigate to the Phishing tab of your KMSAT console. Then, click + Create Phishing Campaign in the top-right corner of the page.
On the New Phishing Campaign page, we recommend that you use the settings listed below:
- Campaign Name: Give the campaign a name, such as "Holiday-themed Phishing Campaign".
- Send to: Select All Users or select certain groups from the Specific Groups drop-down menu.
- Frequency: Select One-time.
- Start Time: Select your preferred date.
- Sending Period: We recommend that you send phishing emails over the course of three or more business days.
- Template Categories: Select Holiday from the first drop-down menu and Full Random from the second drop-down menu.
- Landing Page: From the drop-down menu, select the landing page you would like to use.
- Once you are satisfied with your settings, click Create Campaign at the bottom of the page.
