July 2025 - We’ve updated the web add-in infrastructure to introduce a KnowBe4 rebrand and a timeout functionality.

• New Customers: New customers who have used the Prevent Deployment Center will automatically receive the updated interface and timeout functionality. 
• Timeout Functionality: The web add-in will now default to using the gateway for analysis when performance delays are encountered. This functionality requires existing customers to have a configured Prevent gateway in place. December 4, 2024 - We're pleased to announce the latest update to the Egress Web Add-in, which includes the following performance improvements:

• Resolved an issue where users were experiencing intermittent blank prompts when attempting to send emails.
• Resolved an issue with the Data Loss Prevention prompt, which displayed malformed category values.

September 6, 2024—The web add-in has had a makeover, including functionality changes, to improve your end-user experience. The following changes have been made depending on whether you are a Prevent and/or Protect customer.

Prevent Experience:

• The shield icon has been removed - email advice is displayed in the task pane and color-coded based on the detected risk.
• If the task pane is open and a risk is found when composing an email, the red or orange risk section will automatically expand to display risk details.

Protect Experience:

• Encryption
  • Encryption labels have been renamed to Protection Levels.

• Large File Transfer (LFT)
  • This can be enabled using a toggle in the task pane.
  • If an end-user has already added attachments to an email and then enables LFT, those attachments will be automatically transferred to LFT.
