Phish Alert Button (PAB) Language Aware Feature Guide

The language aware feature for the Phish Alert Button (PAB) allows you to add languages to your new or existing PAB instances. This feature provides you with a set of default languages that you can choose from to add to your Account Settings page. The PAB add-on gives your end-users the ability to report suspicious emails and empowers your employees to take an active role in managing the problem of phishing and other types of malicious emails. For more information on the PAB add-on and how to enable and configure your PAB, check out our Phish Alert Button (PAB) Product Manual.

If you do not see the language that you are looking for, you can add that language to your manifest file and reinstall the PAB. For help with installing and configuring your PAB, please visit our Phish Alert Button (PAB) Product Manual or contact our support team for more assistance.

User Experience

When your users report a suspicious email by clicking the PAB, the language aware PAB will search for the preferred language in the user's system. If you have added the language, the user will see the customized PAB messages in that language.

If the preferred language on the user's system isn't one of the added languages, the language aware PAB will display the default language selected on the Account Settings page.

Note:The PAB uses the language settings in the user’s mail client to identify their preferred language. For example, users with Microsoft 365 can use the Display Language setting to choose their preferred language. Users with Microsoft Outlook can use different settings depending on their version. For more information, visit Microsoft’s Change your display language and time zone in Microsoft 365 for Business or Change the time zone and language settings in Outlook articles.
