Using Assessments
You have the ability to assign assessments to your users through your KnowBe4 console. We offer two different types of assessments: the Security Awareness Proficiency Assessment (SAPA) and our Security Culture Survey (SCS), powered by CLTRe. The results of these assessments give you the information you need to make a positive change in your organization. Whether it’s a list of your organization’s strengths and weaknesses in security awareness or a better understanding of your organization’s culture, the assessment results empower you to make changes and measure your organization's growth over time.
In this article, you will learn how to assign and review results for both types of assessments. For specific information about the Security Awareness Proficiency Assessment (SAPA), see our What Is the Security Proficiency Assessment (SAPA)? article. For specific information about the Security Culture Survey (SCS), see our What is the Security Culture Survey (SCS)? article.

Assigning Assessments
You can assign assessments the same way you assign other training content in your KnowBe4 console. Unlike training content, you will not need to add the assessment from the ModStore as our assessments are already available in your Library.
Note:
If you do not see the assessment in your Library, you can add the assessment through the ModStore by searching for assessments and clicking the + Add to Library button.
To assign an assessment to your users, follow the steps below:
- Log in to your KnowBe4 console and navigate to Training > Campaigns.
- Click + Create Training Campaign.
- From the Content drop-down menu, select the assessment you'd like to assign.
- Fill out all required fields for the campaign. For more information on how to create a new campaign, see our Creating and Managing Training Campaigns article.
- Click Create Campaign.
Completing Assessments in the Learner Experience
Users take assessments the same way they take any other kind of training assignment. To take an assessment, users will log in to their Learner Experience (LX) and click the Training tab. The assessment will display in their list of assigned content. To begin the assessment, users will click Start.
Once they click Start, users will have the option to begin the assessment or return to the assessment later. It's important that users have enough time to complete the assessment once they begin, so if they need more time they can click Come Back Later. After they've completed the assessment, users will be directed to a thank you page.
Accessing Assessment Results
After your users have taken their assessments, you will be able to find the assessments results under the Training tab. The assessments results will be different for each type of assessment.
To view your users' results, follow the steps below:
- Log in to your KnowBe4 console and navigate to Training > Campaigns.
- Click the name of the campaign in which the assessment was assigned.
- From the Overview page, click the Assessment Results button under the assessment title.
For more information about the results for each type of assessment, see the SAPA Results section of our What Is the Security Awareness Proficiency Assessment (SAPA)? article or the Security Culture Survey Results section of our What is the Security Culture Survey (SCS)? article.
