How Can I Create Groups in My Console?
In your KnowBe4 console, go to the Users tab. Then select the Groups subtab. To create a new group, click the + Create New Group button. The following page will open:
- Group Name: Set a name to easily identify the group in the future. The group name can be 2-64 characters long, including spaces.
- Security Roles (optional): Select a set of Security Roles you would like to apply to the users of this group. See our Security Roles article for more information.
- Make this a Smart Group (optional): Platinum/Diamond accounts will have the option to create a Smart Group. Smart Groups are automatically-populated user groups based on specific criteria. Users cannot be manually added to or removed from Smart Groups. Learn more about Smart Groups here.
- Set Risk Booster(optional): Set a specific risk booster for users in this group. See our Risk Boosters Guide for more information.
Once you've entered the details of your choosing, click Create Group.

Other Ways to Create Groups
You can also create groups automatically when importing users using a CSV file. Simply add a Group header to the CSV before importing your user list. See our CSV Import article for more details.
