Markdown support, please!

We write an objective, evidence, and analysis statement for each control, and include it as the control description. The formatting capabilities are non-existent. It would be very useful to be able to format text using Markdown, or some subset. Particularly, lists, hyperlinks, block quotes, and headings would be of particular utility. We would also find this capability really useful for scope descriptions and requirement descriptions.

  Thanks for the suggestion! Formatting options are removed to prevent injection attacks. However, I will submit a feature request on your behalf just in case it is something that can be implemented safely in the future.

  There are too many SaaS systems available that offer Markdown in text fields for the 'Official comment' to have any strength. Input validation would be the primary defense against such an attack.
