/* Nine dead rules were deleted here on 2026-10-30, as part of Phase 5's
   legacy `--clr-*` sweep: `.icon-card`, `.fa-kmsat`, `.avatar`,
   `.fa-circle-star`, `.social-icon`, `.fa-books` and the three
`.svg-inline--fa_*` rules below. Between them they held every one of this
file's eleven legacy references, which is why no `--clr-*` primitive is left
in it, and removing them cannot change rendering because not one of them
could win where it was declared.

NOT EMITTED BY ANY TEMPLATE. Checked as exact class tokens rather than by
substring, which matters -- a loose grep for "avatar" hits `avatar-img`,
`comment-avatar` and `avatar-img-request` and makes `.avatar` look live.
Two template comments independently confirmed it: the `.btn-user` block in
header.hbs records that `.avatar` was deliberately kept OFF that glyph
because its 2rem box was one of three rules fighting over the element's
size, and the deleted Promoted Articles section in section_page.hbs records
`fa-circle-star` as unused once Joy eliminated promoted articles
(2026-10-23). `.social-icon` was already documented as dead and explicitly
left for this pass -- see the header comment of css-page-footer.css, which
lists it with `.cluster-footer`, `.link-footer` and `.btn-theme-footer` as
footer-only rules the rebuilt `.kb-footer-*` markup replaced.

THE THREE `.svg-inline--fa_*` RULES COULD NEVER HAVE MATCHED, separately
from being unused. Font Awesome's SVG+JS kit emits `svg-inline--fa` and
`fa-<name>` as two class tokens; it never emits a single token joined by an
   underscore. So `.svg-inline--fa_dropdown`, `.svg-inline--fa_wave` and
`.svg-inline--fa_promo_article` were unmatchable selectors, and the `--fg` /
`--bg` / `--fa-border-*` props they set went nowhere. The rest of the theme
targets the real class -- see `.link:where(:has(.svg-inline--fa))` in
   css-links.css.

`.fa-books` WAS EMITTED but its colour still never painted, which is a
different case from the eight above and worth keeping distinct. Both places
that emit it -- the `.kb-section-card` chips in category_page.hbs and
section_page.hbs -- put it inside `.kb-icon-graphic`, and the
`.kb-icon-graphic svg` rule in css-components.css restates the colour at
(0,2,2) against this rule's (0,1,0), so it won outright rather than on load
order. That rule exists *because* of this one: its comment records that
`.fa-books` on a legacy primitive with no dark tier was a live dark-mode bug
on the section page -- dark grey glyph on a dark chip -- until it was fixed
there on 2026-10-23. Deleting this leaves the chips drawing from
--neutral-icon exactly as they already did.

The one behaviour change is off-template and an improvement: an author who
writes `<i class="fa-books">` in article body HTML sits outside
`.kb-icon-graphic`, so that glyph was getting #333333 with no dark tier and
now inherits the article's tiered ink instead. */
