Ability to copy a template is missing

    Hey Brian, 

    Thank you for contributing to our community board. I can see how you would want to copy templates. I think that I have a workaround that would work for you. What you can do to, a bit more quickly, create multiple templates is to export then re-import the item. 

     

    When you export that template to a machine and import the item again. 

     

    You can repeat that process until you have an adequate number of templates pretty quickly. 

     

     

    So that may work as a workaround for the time being. I've submitted a feature request on your behalf so our development team knows that it's being requested.

    I would add, a "Save As" option as well would be very helpful!

    I don't have the Export button on the page with my templates. Is this something I must request access to with a support ticket?

    Hey Nicole, 

    Thank you for contributing to the community board. I need to make an addendum to my post above that feature is only available to managed consoles who have child-level accounts underneath them. Otherwise, the email will need to be recreated. You can do that somewhat easily by copying the source code of the email. 

    I do see how that is not ideal so I'm going to create a feature request for this feature at all levels. 

    I do apologize for the inaccurate solution above I'll get that corrected ASAP!

    Thanks, Douglas. I had a feeling that's what I needed to do but was hoping to make it a bit simpler for the other admins. I appreciate your response and for putting in this as a feature request. :)

    I'm glad that I was able to at least do that, and I do apologize for not having the most correct information posted above! I'm hoping that we can get functionality for this soon to make it easier to copy templates for you all.

    Hello KB4 Support,

    Any update on this feature request? I could also use the feature enhancement discussed here (either the Copy or Save As) option to quickly create new notification templates.

    Thanks for posting! I don't have any insight into the selection process for feature requests as that lies solely with our development team. I did go ahead and add you as a +1 to this feature request though and I do agree this would definitely be a great improvement to our platform!

    Hello,

    I would also like this feature. Most of my training notification templates only vary slightly. Currently, it's quite tedious to duplicate these. I need to open a template, copy the source, create a new template, paste the source, fill in the rest of the template name and address info, and then change the few lines of the email I actually need to edit.

    Having the ability to clone, similar to the training and phishing campaigns, would save a lot of time.

    Hi - I am the original requestor of this feature enhancement.  I am checking back on this, it's been over a year since this request was submitted. I see that there are several people also asking for this, but I still don't see a way to copy a template.  The inherent meaning of a template is something that you can easily re-create without going through all of the steps that were initially required. Calling these templates without a way to clone or copy them is confusing.  There is a Move option, but no Copy or Clone. If we can't copy the templates themselves, can you provide a way to copy the entire category including the templates inside it?  This would really save a lot of time when creating a new campaign.  Ours are in several languages and re-creating them by hand each time is very time consuming and somewhat frustrating.  Please add a way to copy or clone the templates, or find a new name for them since if they can't be reproduced easily, they really are not 'templates'.

    I agree this would be great to have. I do not have any more information on if our development team is definitively going to be adding this or not. If anything changes either a yes or no from them I will be sure to update this thread. In the meantime, I noted the feature request highlighting that this is something that is extremely important to you.

    I'm not seeing the ability to do this for us, and we're a diamond subscriber. Is there any possibility this could be bumped back onto the dev teams radar? It would be great to have a customized template that we can use for everything and be able to clone it (i.e. I create templates that use our company colors and logo and like to be consistent across all our notifications so the firm knows what to expect).
