When users are imported with AD sync, their KB4 account's employee start date is filled in with the date the user account was created in AD, I believe. That's fine, except it can't be modified since it's tied to an AD attribute.
This means the start date becomes something we cannot use in smart groups to assign things like their required initial training session. Currently, because user accounts are often created a week or two prior to the employee actually starting, which means they often appear as if they are past due and notifications may get sent to their manager.
If we could edit that field after the initial sync (as in, sync it the first time, then never again so we can edit it), it would allow us to defer training for an employee that hasn't actually started yet.
