does previewing an attachment in outlook count as opening the attachment in the test results?

    Hi there,

    I see that you've submitted a support ticket on this issue and a technician will be in touch with you shortly. 

    The attachment types do vary in how they are recorded as "opened", however in the cases of Office documents, they are tracked as "opened" if the small, invisible tracking image we place in the attachments is allowed to load. In some cases, the preview pane could show the attachment as being opened, depending on the settings in your environment.

    Technically, I believe the preview pane is also dangerous, and Outlook warns you of that. Users should consider previewing the same as opening for security purposes.
