An At a Glance Topic shares the same structure as any other topic, with content pages and attributes, but contains information presented from the broader perspective of the topic group (i.e., Physical Security, or Safe Computing). While a regular topic is intended to cover a single learning topic, the At a Glance topic is intended to offer a very high-level learning approach to all core topics in a topic group. The intention is that such a topic might be used to quickly provide coverage of a topic group, or might even be paired with other At a Glance topics to provide a quick overview of multiple topic groups.
The great benefit of At a Glance topics is that modularity means flexibility. You have complete control over which content goes into creating a course, and thus the course length. You do not need to include an entire topic group on privacy principles, for example, when all you want is a two-minute overview of what personal information is and the steps to keep such information private.
To make the best use of At a Glance topics, you must first determine not only which topics you need in your course, but also the level of detail you need for those topics. Topics that only need a brief overview or introduction are great candidates for using At a Glance Topics. For example, if you want a course on General Security, but physical security is not a big risk in your organization, consider building a security course that includes just the Physical Security At a Glance topic.
